Why on my corner?

Had a moment yesterday which, if I were in a normal mindset, would be kind of cool.  I went to the Subway by my house, on 9th Ave., and I noticed all these production trucks...it was clear that something was being filmed.  After I bought my 6-inch turkey sub, I went outside and walked towards the action...like a moth to a flame.  I saw a PA and he started motioning to me.  I was like, "Yes?"  He says, "Oh you can go this way."  "Why?"  "To go around."  "Oh no, I live the other direction," I said, "I was just wondering what was going on."  "Oh.  We're filming Love Monkey."  Sure enough, I looked to my right, and there is Tom Cavanaugh.  "Oh. Cool." I said.  The PA then asked me, "Have you watched the show?"  "No," I said. "I'd rather be on the show." "Oh yeah?" he said. "Do you do background work or do you act?"  I smiled. "I've done background work, but I'd rather act."  He smiled back, "Yeah."  And then I walked around the corner and went home.  This would normally be a cool thing.  But instead, I just got frustrated that there they were, on my corner, and I wasn't working!  But at least I can add Tom Cavanaugh to my list...

Famous People

I get asked a lot - Have you seen any famous people?  The answer is yes.  Many.  So I've compiled a list of people I have seen/talked to.  The names that have astericks I've actually spoken to, instead of just seeing them in passing.

Alan Alda*, Joan Allen*, Christina Applegate*, Angela Bassett*, Matthew Broderick*, Kate Burton*, Mario Cantone*, Don Cheadle*, Marcia Cross*, Jon Cryer*, Sally Field*, Harvey Fierstein, Laurence Fishburne*, Jeff Goldblum*, Anne Hathaway, Ethan Hawke*, Dennis Haysbert*, Allison Janney*, James Earl Jones*, Nathan Lane*, Laura Linney*, Idina Menzel*, Esai Morales*, Megan Mullally*, Sandra Oh*, Bernadette Peters*, David Hyde Pierce*, Chita Rivera, Doris Roberts, Emmy Rossum*, Keri Russell*, Tony Shalhoub*, Liev Schreiber*, Harry Smith, Julia Stiles*, Kathleen Turner*, Leslie Uggams*, Jennifer Garner, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Harvey Kietel*, Kanye West*, Backstreet Boys, All American Rejects*, Shakira, Hugh Jackman, Harry Connick, Jr., Fall Out Boy*, Chris Brown, Ciara, Stephanie D’Abruzzo*, Frank DeCaro*, Parker Posey, Ludacris, Frankie J*, Click 5*, Sean Paul, Billy Crystal*, Jonathan Schaech*, Susan Lucci*, Adam Pascal*, Taye Diggs*, Jai Rodriguez, Donald Trump, Randal* (the Apprentice - not Aprenti), Sugar Ray Leonard, Jerry O’Connell*, Carson and Thom from Queer Eye*, the Gastineau Girls, Lorne Michaels, Gilbert Goffried, Diane Sawyer, Lenny Kravitz*, Ann Curry, Yoko Ono, Meredith Viera*, Star Jones, Joy Behar, Bobby Canavale, Wallace Shawn, Dan Lauria*, Natasha Lyonne*, Jennifer Esposito, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany, Uma Thurman, Barbara Walters, Jessica Biel....and I’m probably leaving out some (I just remembered Uma and Barbara and Jessica at the last minute, so there are probably others)

I worked at the Tony Awards and at Z100's Jingle Ball, which is where I met most of the people.  I also have worked on All My Children, so I met a few other cast members besides Susan Lucci - but her name is the most recognizable.  I did a modeling job for Saturday Night Live, hence some of the SNL people and Jennifer Garner was the host that week. I also worked at the Apprentice event that was the final challenge this season (with Randal), where it was rained out.  That was a miserable day. There's a story behind all the people above, but this entry would be too long to go into all of that.

It's fun being a New Yorker :)
