Busy Weekend

Had a callback this morning for the webisode I went in for on Saturday.  It seems like a really fun project and we'll see if I was a right fit for the part.  Then it was rehearsal for the play - we're all blocked and will be running through the show at next weekend's rehearsals.  Tonight I've been working on my sides for tomorrow's audition and now it's time to head to bed.  Tomorrow will be busy and hopefully this momentum will continue.  For now, sweet dreams.

When it rains, it pours

All of a sudden, I'm pretty busy!  I have an audition tomorrow for a web series, then I have rehearsal for the play, then the next day another rehearsal,  I have two scenes going up in class on Monday and then an audition for a series regular role for a new NBC pilot.  I have scripts and sides surrounding me and I am thrilled!  This is what it is about.  I just wrote that it's been a slow summer and now this.  It's raining.

Day Two

Day Two!  I am writing two days in a row....I think I've done this before....when I write two weeks in a row, that might be more reason for excitement.

Went to my audition for the commercial today.  We shall see where that goes - it literally consisted of saying one word, so you just never know.  All the women there seemed to know each other and it reminded me how new I still am to this town.

Then I had rehearsal for my scene for class - I'm working on a scene from House of Yes.

And then I audited class tonight and there were some fun scenes that got put up.

And that was basically the day.  That's the hard part of writing daily.  It's not always groundbreaking.

Oh!  Here are my new headshots I was telling you about:

The Start of Something New

So I noticed upon reviewing some of my site traffic, most of it is centered around my blog.  And I haven’t really been keeping it up to date.  At all.  Ever.  BUT.  Since I have been blogging for nearly all of 2008 for Latest Beauty, I should be somewhat in the habit of dropping little meandering thoughts daily on my own personal blog.  And with that, here we go.

It’s been a bit of a slow summer for me, audition-wise.  I haven’t been sent out since May which is a bit of a bummer but hopefully with the fall season full of new shows, my casting opportunities will increase.  I’m teaching myself patience.  In the meantime, I’ve been taking advanced classes at the Ivanna Chubbuck Studio, which has been the highlight of my summer.  I’m learning so much, since this is my first time studying an actual technique, and with Ben Davis as my teacher, I’m sure to continue to grow.  I love my classmates and I audit as many of Ivanna’s Masters classes as I can, which keeps me focused.

Two weeks ago I was a contestant on Trivial Pursuit: America Plays, a new game show that starts airing in syndication later this month.  I'll let you know my airdate when I find it out.

I got cast in a play!  I’m very excited to be giving it my first go in Los Angeles theatre this October.  I’m part of the ensemble cast of Tales From the Shadow Zone at Next Stage.  Chris Berube is the writer/director/producer behind this show and this is its eighth showing, so it’s got a bit of a following.  The show is comprised of 5 storylines that make up one two-hour show and the “tales” are Twilight Zone/X-Files-esque.  I am playing Valerie in A Date In Time, which is juicy and fun and involves guns and screaming and time travel.  Kooky and crazy, my cup of tea.  Perfect for Halloween fun.

I also have a commercial audition tomorrow, so we’ll see where that goes.  You never know…

Until then…

PS - I also got new headshots done by Michael Maples earlier this year and I have yet to update the pics on this site. You can see them at my IMDB listing and I'll post them on here tomorrow.
